Hello, friends, family, lovers, and on and offline community members.
As some of you may or may not know, for over half a decade (5 years/8 months), I have been working as a Visual Merchandiser for Target since 2019. This position came to me at a time when I needed it—after a huge life transition.
The main reason I took this position was because I wanted to and still want to stay in Los Angeles. I have a love affair with LA, and LA has my heart! I didn't expect to be with Target for half a decade later, post-pandemic and other world/life events.
When I started at Target, the company's values really aligned with mine, what I stand for, and the communities I identify with. As the years progressed, I became less enchanted with Target's values.
As of February 26, 2025, I was let go from Target.
Now, if you know me well, I never ask for anything, and this is an extremely vulnerable thing for me to do. I am asking for your help while I find another employer during this life transition. As someone that doesn't come from generational wealth, I am relying on the community to help me with living expenses (rent, food, gas, etc.) for the next 2-3 months.
And once again, the main reason for asking for help is my love affair with Los Angeles. Please help me continue this love affair by contributing.
