Dorchester MaraFUN, Mini Marathon and London Marathon

As many of you know, I will be running the London Marathon on Sunday 27th April. I was lucky enough to be offered a Teachers' place, by the sponsor, Tata Consultancy Services. In order to gain the place, I had to complete an application outlining all we do to keep our children active and healthy at school.

As well as my own run, we were given 25 places for children to participate in the mini-Marathon on Saturday 26th April; the children participating completed some compelling applications as to why we should choose them to represent their school at this amazing event.

So that the whole community can join in too, we are organising an after school 'Mara-FUN' ON Thursday 24th April, when we will count the number of laps the whole school community can complete on the field - and yes - that includes parents and carers too!

We will be raising money for the benefit of children at the school by donating to FODS (FRIENDS OF DORCHESTER SCHOOL) who will use the funds towards their next big project - a refurbishment of the trim trail area with exciting new play equipment for all the children to use.
