Doreen Pickett Scholarship Fund

Doreen was an infectious personality that was quick to laugh and always made others laugh.  Always the life of the party, Doreen brought a unique perspective to every situation to include the 42 years of midnight shifts caring for patients and helping her coworkers understand that although everyone has bad days, you can still make them smile and feel loved.  

Doreen departed this life peacefully in the presence of family on February 13, 2017.  She touched each person with whom she came in contact and she will be greatly missed.  Her spirit lives in every one of us who had the pleasure of sharing her company.  A bright star and shining light, Doreen has helped shape generations of people who are far better having known her.   

We have established a scholarship at Marist College that will last forever.  Donations in Doreen’s memory may be made in support of the Doreen Pickett Scholarship Fund at Marist College. The scholarship will support a student studying for a career in the medical field who embodies Doreen’s selflessness, professionalism, and joy.  It is through this scholarship that Doreen’s memory will continue to live on and inspire the next generation of medical professionals.
