Dorian Relief Fund for Garry-Gue Children

Pastor John Garry leads a church in the Mudd area in Abaco, Bahamas. His wife and four children team up to provide meals to the impoverished area, mainly ministering to children.
During Dorian's assault, their house caved in around their family. The family stood outside by a vehicle to guard themselves from hurricane winds, praying for God's protection. They lost their church building, several church members, seven family members, friends, and all material items. They arrived with the clothes they were wearing, an iPad, and no money. We know Pastor Garry through a local pastor who has been organizing mission trips over the years. These are kind, loving folks who have devoted their lives to helping one of the world's most impoverished communities.
My husband flew our plane to the Bahamas to rescue Dorian victims, and bring them legally into the U.S. We were not aware that this family did not have a safe place to reside when we landed, so we opened our home. It is not an optimal situation as my mother lives on-site with Alzheimer's, they do not have a vehicle, we have full-time jobs, busy schedule, growing boys... BUT, we are kneeling to help others, as we are called to do.
The family has been fully clothed. Two of the children are now enrolled in public elementary school. We are working on middle and high school enrollment for the others.
Though Pastor Garry plans to return to the Bahamas to help rebuild their community and ministry in the future, these funds raised will be used to find a place for them to live, purchase a modest vehicle and insurance, meals, computer to complete school assignments, and medical expenses (no insurance) while residing in St. Augustine.
