Our beautiful warrior Dori Gragg passed away unexpectedly on December 14, 2018. Dori had a heart of gold and was passionate in all she did and was always sharing knowledge, inspiring others and giving strength to others when they needed it most – sometimes without them realizing that need. She worked tirelessly not only to improve herself but those around her. When someone was sad or felt despair, or needed help or support, she was the first to lift them up and could always bring a smile or laughter with her wit and wisdom. Your battle became hers.

Dori left behind one of her greatest gifts – her son Alex. Alex was her pride and joy and the two were inseparable and were close as two souls could be. The shock and sadness of losing Dori unexpectedly, has left Alex dealing with an emotional toll that alone is so hard to bear. Beyond the pain, are the financial obligations Alex will have to face as he has to move on without his beloved mother. Dori’s love and support have been integral to Alex fulfilling his dream of becoming a High School English teacher. Although most of Alex’s schooling has been covered through scholarships, he was fortunate to have the complete financial support of his mother to cover his living expenses and books so that he could focus solely on his studies. Now his ability to fulfill this dream is in jeopardy as he tries to navigate life without her. He currently has a year and a half left of schooling but this is now impacted without his mother’s sole financial support.

We know that the many lessons that Dori has taught him will ensure that he keeps fighting, giving, and continuing the strong legacy that his mother left behind. However your financial support will help him cover burial expenses ($2500), current living expenses (rent, utilities, food, books, etc. - ~$2,500/month), so that he may continue his current studies and have the additional support and time he needs to grieve and figure out how navigate this new normal. Every little bit helps and counts. Your financial contributions will make an immediate impact. It will help pay for Dori’s burial, give Alex 3 months of support to figure this all out – pay the bills, find a job to support himself and his studies, and in Dori’s words, help shape Alex’s life story “into a magnificent tale of triumph, of healing, of courage, of beauty, of wisdom, of power, of dignity and, of love.” #DoriStrong
