Help fund Dorm & Feeding for Veronica’s College

My name is Andriana. I am writing this message on behalf of Veronica, my dear student who is like a sister and like a daughter to me. Since 2017 I have known her as a fierce student a part of one of the Peace Clubs in the Uganda refugee settlement school where I'd been sharing my Nonviolent communication and Improv comedy workshops online with teachers through WhatsApp. A friend who had volunteered there introduced us. Eventually I decided to go meet everyone in person and also met Veronica in person! This is when our support system for her began and it still continues.

About her:

Veronica fled her home in South Sudan because of violence. She found her way to a refugee camp school in Uganda. That is how we met. where she got a scholarship to attend school and excelled to became president of her school’s peace club (this is how we met). The scholarship ended and so did her education as it’s not free.

In 2018 I traveled to teach in Uganda and Veronica and I finally met. I had secretly found her a sponsor and surprised her. We visited several colleges and dorms and found the perfect fit.

Throughout the years myself and a beautiful collective of friends and family have kept her in school, clothed, fed, and helped treat harmful illnesses like malaria and typhoid.This has become the EMCL collective mentorship program (education mentorship communication laughter).

I am asking for your donations in helping me pay for Veronica’s dorm and food for the 1st semester.

Veronica is an incredible young woman who has taken every opportunity and tried her very best and excelled. I admire her.

She is wholeheartedly thankful to every person who contributes to her future and tells me this in tears and prayer. We speak almost daily as she is like a daughter/sister/family to me.

About me: During my time as a community space founder in Brooklyn, I grew to understand how the elements of compassionate communication and Laughter weaved people together and empowered connection. After closing my business in Brooklyn, I began to volunteer with Peace Clubs in various refugee settlements in Uganda through the internet. I would share lesson plans in Improv Comedy and Nonviolent communication. This inspired EMCL Collective, which is an acronym for the pillars in which our action empower its students: Education & Mentorships in Compassionate Communication and Laughter, while providing finances for education, housing, food, clothing and medical. This has all been made possible the past 6 years with various donations and personal funds.
