Dorothea's Cancer Fund
Donation protected
Hi All,
So our friend Dorothea's birthday is this Friday, and as some of you may know, she has recently been diagnosed with thyroid cancer. While happily this is treatable by removing the thyroid, sadly it is not an inexpensive process, way more than the goal for this campaign. She has applied for financial aid and hopefully will get it, but how much this will actually cost her is uncertain.
The idea is that our birthday present to her could be this campaign to contribute to her medical expenses. We're entering a season of generosity, often generosity that comes in the form of treating ourselves and others to nonessentials. Can we skim a little off of those nonessential treats and put it towards treating Dorothea instead?
There are a lot of good causes in the world. I think one of best ones to start with is looking out for the people close to us. If you can contribute financially, awesome. If you can't, I'm a strong believer in the power of prayers and positive energy, so send some good thoughts her way. Either way, let's join to wish Dorothea good health and a happy birthday!
(P.S. She doesn't actually know about this. Surprises are nice. Can we keep it a secret until this Friday? Thanks.)
