Dorothy E. Rasmussen Scholarship Fund

UPDATE: The 501c3 that will distribute this scholarship is registered under "Auxiliary of Charlton Memorial Hospital", which is directly related to Tobey Hospital and the greater Southcoast Health network.

In November of 2021, the world said goodbye to the matriarch of our family, Dorothy E. Rasmussen. She was a vivacious, determined, and brilliant soul. While she had many causes that she felt passionate about, the most notable was the Tobey Hospital Guild, where she had served as President. In the days and weeks after her passing, we heard from countless people about the impact she had on not only them but the community as a whole. The work she was doing with “The Guild” as she would call it, was something that she cared deeply about. Until the very end, she remained committed to the Guild and the work that they were doing in the community. It brings us comfort to know that in her final days, Tobey Hospital was there to give her the very best care.

 

 

 

 

In the spirit of her legacy and her longstanding work with the Tobey Hospital Guild, we are establishing the Dorothy E Rasmussen Scholarship Fund for area students who wish to pursue their careers in healthcare. We could think of no better tribute than to help continue her work with the Guild and the network of hospitals that it supports.

 

 

 

 

The Tobey Hospital Guild (registered under Auxiliary of Charlton Memorial Hospital) is a non-profit organization whose purpose is to render services to Tobey Hospital, its tax-exempt subsidiaries, and its patients and to assist in promoting health and welfare of the community. Members serve as ambassadors to the community on behalf of the hospital. Tobey Hospital is located in Wareham, M.A. and is part of the Southcoast Health hospital system.
