Dorset Walk 2024 - The Malcolm Whales Foundation

Hi, my name is Lillie and I am 17 years old. This July, I will be participating in the Dorset Walk, 2024 and raising money for The Malcolm Whales Foundation. I have participated in this walk in previous years and this year, I will be completing it for the third time which is being supported by a member of staff at my placement.

The Dorset Walk is a annual event that involves walking 40 miles along the challenging terrain of the Jurassic Coast. The walk starts along the seafront at Weymouth on Friday 12th July and finishes at Studland Beach on Sunday 15th July. The walk is in memory of Malcolm Whales who lost his life to cancer when he was 55 years old, the foundation was created by his son Damien Whales, who wanted to create a legacy for his father.

All the money we raise will go to a number of different causes and cancer charities. The Malcolm Whales Foundation’s aim is ‘to help people affected by cancer and illness’. The charity itself achieves this in a number of different ways, and through their fundraising events, are able to raise funds to support those affected in a variety of different ways.

Cancer has affected many peoples lives in different ways, I am wanting to give back and ensure those who are, are supported with the things they need. I would be very grateful if anyone can support me on this journey and contributing towards this fantastic cause.

Thank you,
Lillie
