Dottie's Dojo: 24 hour Martial Arts Marathon
Donation protected
At 12pm on Friday 22nd July, I will be embarking on a 24 hour martial arts marathon that we are calling 'Dottie's Dojo'.
St John's Church Hall in Thurrock have generously allowed us to host the event for free so all proceeds will be going straight to Dottie's Trust fund via the gofundme page.
Special sessions will be set up across the 24 hours for willing participants/victims looking to try something new or perfect your skills, and I'll be taking on several hours alone, all in the name of a fantastic cause.
I will soon publish a list/timetable of all sessions and details of how to donate and book onto those.

For those that don't wish to participate, or just encourage me to get through the whole 24 hours, we would welcome any donations.
Dottie and her family have always held a special place in our hearts.
Dottie was born not long after our eldest son, and the two have had a very special bond since they were babies.
We have been lucky to build lots of special memories with them over the years.

Dottie has shown such amazing strength taking on a treatment marathon that most adults would struggle to cope with.
To say that we are proud of her parents, John and Louise, is an understatement. It is hard to find the right words to convey our admiration for them. As well as being a tower of strength to their girls in the most trying of circumstances, they have raised lots of money for various charities, which have helped Dottie along her journey.
All contributions are welcome, every little helps, and we hope to see lots of faces old and new get involved to support this amazing little girl and awe-inspiring family. Everyone is welcome to Dottie's dojo!
I will post updates and information on sessions that can be attended as we go forward toward July, but it's fair to say there will be something for absolutely everybody.
Please give what you can and support Dottie. This little girl deserves the world.
Thank you
DOTTIES STORY
Dottie was only 4 years old when she had a really bad headache & her parents, John and Lou took her to their local A&E, where she had an emergency MRI scan & was diagnosed with a brain tumour.
She was blue lighted straight away to GOSH. This all happened during the pandemic, so there were restrictions on only Dottie's parents being allowed access to see Dottie during this traumatic period.
Dottie's grandparents took over the care of John and Lou’s two other daughters, Lily (15) & Bella (9), who they didn’t see for another 3 weeks. When they did get to see them, they had to stand outside wearing face masks and couldn't even cuddle their girls due to concerns with Covid and the possibility of passing this onto Dottie.
5 days after Dottie was first diagnosed, due to concerns regarding the build-up of pressure and fluid around the brain, she had a craniotomy; it was also necessary to carry out surgery to obtain some biopsies from the tumour to diagnose the type of tumour which Dottie had.
Dottie's brain surgeon was the world-renowned Dr. Jaleeni, who carried out this delicate operation. Despite the tumour being perilously located on the brain, he miraculously and skillfully obtained 10 biopsies, each the size of half a grain of rice.
Once Dotties Parents had all the results back from the laboratory, they were then hit with the fact that Dottie's journey was going to be a long one, requiring 18 months of chemotherapy, frequent trips to GOSH and Basildon Hospitals.
Dottie's journey will be a very long road, which will require ongoing care and support for many years. With this in mind and in preparation to provide Dottie with as much support as possible, her parents decided to create a trust fund for Dottie. The trust aims to assist with her ongoing care and taking opportunities with any medical advancements; It is a priority for them to be ready for when, and should that time come, and continue to provide a healthy and stable environment for her.
