Double Organ Transplant Fund For Anna Cashman

Donation protected
A week before Thanksgiving 2020, my wife Anna began to feel very ill. She has been a type 1 diabetic since she was a little girl, and has been taking insulin injections for the majority of her life, so illness is something our family has been accustomed to. Fearing it may be Ketoacidosis or Covid19, we went to the emergency room.  After 6 days in the hospital and 3 blood transfusions, the doctors found the source of this new illness, and it was something nobody expected. She is in stage 5 renal(Kidney) failure and is in desperate need of a transplant. The doctors said her pancreas has been damaging her kidneys to the point that they are now 85% scar tissue and barely functioning. Being a young healthy woman, this is something that has went unnoticed her entire life by her and her doctors but even if this were caught earlier on, the solution would be the same. She needs a double organ transplant, kidney and pancreas.

The day before Thanksgiving, Anna was finally well enough to come home and since then life has been a bit of a roller coaster. Her best chance of survival is with a kidney from a live donor and we are in the process of trying to find a match. In the event that we do, I would like to cover any expenses or lost wages the donor may incur as a result of the surgery. If I can give her my kidney(praying that we're a match), we're going to need extra funds to cover my lost wages. If we don't find a match soon, Anna will need to go on dialysis, only adding to the already stressful situation. To add to the list, even with insurance, the pancreas alone has a $10k bill that comes with it.

With weekly hospital visits, medications, treatments, procedures, and time off work, this whole thing is starting to take a toll on us financially. Me and Anna both work full time and have decent health insurance. Unfortunately their is a lot that insurance doesn't cover, and at the rate we're going now, our savings aren't going to cut it.

So this is the reason why I'm asking for your help. Me and Anna are going on 12 years together and I don't know what I would do without her. There is a big light at the end of the tunnel. When this all works out, she will no longer need insulin for at least 10 years and most live kidneys last a lifetime. It's a long and costly road we're on and we appreciate any help we can get along the way. You really can help me save her life! Thank you for supporting our cause!
