Enhance Wellbeing for Communities and Wildlife
Tax deductible
Imagine a world where the well-being of communities and wildlife is at the heart of conservation. At OneNature, we’re committed to this vision, working alongside communities in Rwanda, Laos, and beyond. In the past year alone, your support has helped us:
- Conduct a well-being survey in Rwanda with our local Rwandan partner Red Rocks Initiative for Sustainable Development to understand and support communities who will be moving away from their homes near Volcanoes National Park. The remarkable increase in the mountain gorilla population is a conservation success story though the park expansion to accommodate this growing gorilla population will greatly impact the local community. Our project will help Red Rocks understand current wellbeing and support the community's capacity to thrive.
- Further develop and share our Wild Happiness approach with conservation experts, inspiring new, people-centered conservation methods.
- Develop a Wild Happiness approach to climate projects, promoting nature-based solutions that benefit both people and wildlife.
Why We Need Your Help Now
To build on this progress, we’re raising $10,000 by December 31st to expand our work in these communities. Every donation (up to $5,000) will be matched by our board, advisors, and senior leadership, doubling your impact! With your support, we can:
- Continue and expand the Wild Happiness work in Rwanda to support more communities near Volcanoes National Park that are impacted by the expansion of the park.
- Launch a new Wild Happiness Rwanda project with Earthsongs and Red Rocks that uses the transformational power of music to catalyze a regenerative well-being economy in the communities surrounding Volcanoes National Park.
- Launch a new Wild Happiness project to support communities living alongside snow leopards in Nepal using collaborative art (with Joe Rohde) and wellbeing filmmaking (with David Borish) together with Pangje - a fantastic Nepalese-run community snow-leopard conservation organization.
- Develop and share our Wild Happiness framework with new conservation projects, through workshops, consulting, and partnerships -- transforming conservation one community at a time.
