Doug & Lukas MacMillen Almeda Fire Relief
Donation protected
On September 8th, 2020, my father and I left our home in Talent Oregon to avoid a fire that had recently started less than a mile away. I had some of my belongings pre-packed for my move back to Eugene, Oregon -- that would happen later in the week -- however, my father was less fortunate. Rushing out the door with the clothes on his back, a phone, backpack and book, my father was pressed with hope that our house -- and all of his belongs -- would be awaiting our return.
Many Southern Oregonians lost something to the Almeda fire. For us, it was our home of the past decade, including all of my fathers belongings, memories, and treasures that he had cherished throughout his life. We were blessed that Ashland Oregon was left mostly unscathed from fire damage, and we have been able to jump between couch surfing and hotel hopping.
As we try and stand back up from our losses, my dad and I seek help. Anything is appreciated, and we thank all of those that have supported us thus far -- though we hope to find a roof over our head soon, that we can once again call our home.
