Fund for Doug Dittman's Children
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Dave Dittman, and I'm Doug Dittman's older brother. As many of you know, Doug passed away very unexpectedly of a heart attack on the night of September 21st in Murray, Ky. He was there for work and was spending the night to lessen his driving back and forth from Cincinnati for those 2 days.
He leaves behind a 13 year old daughter, who is in the 8th grade, an 18 year old son, who just joined the Marines in late August, and many family members and countless friends.
Many people have asked us how they could help the family navigate this incredibly difficult situation. And even though Doug had a small life insurance policy to cover the cost of his funeral and other immediate expenses, there will be things that his children may need in the future, growing up without their dad. Some examples of these life events are school trips; large shool supplies, like musical instruments or computers; and/or possibly helping pay for their weddings in the future.
So to provide a way to help pay for those needs, my mom, Nancy, and I are creating this Go Fund Me account. My mother and I will be the custodians of this account which will benefit my niece and nephew.
We already have a large list of people who want to contribute to help Doug's children: Doug's company, Skurnik Wines, along with many of his co-workers; vendors and customers of Skurnik, who Doug interacted with on a regular basis; Doug's circle of friends from when he lived in Las Vegas; as well as, many other friends and family of everyone's favorite "gentile giant".
If you have any questions or would like any more details, feel free to reach out to me or my mother, Nancy. We would love to talk to you and share some Doug stories.
Thank you for your support during this difficult time,
Dave Dittman
