Hi everyone, this fundraiser is being created to help my mother, Bobbi Jo Hitt cover funeral and unforeseen medical expenses arising from the death of her husband, Douglas Scott Hitt. Doug grew up and continued to reside in Blain, PA through adulthood. He was the most genuine, kindhearted, handy-man alive. He was always lending a helping hand to a friend, family member or even a stranger in need. He was always known for picking up that broken washer/dryer at the curbside, buying an object that needed fixed at a local flea market, taking on the challenge of the repair and giving the item to someone in need. During his free time, he loved spending time with his family and friends. Doug and Bobbi's love story started in 2013; they officially tied the knot in July 2020. Doug did not have any children of his own, but he loved myself and my siblings as his own. He was the best bonus dad I could've ever asked for. If us kids ever needed anything, Doug would drop whatever he was doing and he would be right there to save the day. He was blessed with several grandchildren which he loved dearly. If he wasn't spending time with the family or helping others, he was fulfilling his inner child by four-wheeling, dune buggy riding and driving his beloved Mustang. On New Year's Eve, our family suffered a tragic loss. Doug had a massive heart attack in his home where he received CPR from his wife and his one daughter until emergency personnel arrived. When the ambulance arrived, CPR was continued and continued at the hospital after his arrival. Unfortunately, despite the greatest efforts, Doug passed away at the young age of 57. Doug was the main source of income for his household. Unfortunately, Doug did not qualify for life insurance as he had prostate cancer. He fortunately had his prostate removed and was considered cancer free. He was not able to be reconsidered for life insurance until he was cancer free for five years; his five-year mark would have been this week. Doug's passing will forever be mourned but the memories will always be cherished.

At this time, I would like to ask family, friends, co-workers, and the community to come together to help support our family as we lay Doug to rest. We appreciate all the thoughts, prayers, and condolences. Thank you in advance for any contributions you are able to make.
