Douglas Sloan Memorial Fund

Doug Sloan was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was a good and faithful servant of God and is remembered for his patience and encouraging words. He always knew how to throw in a witty comment to make anyone smile and laugh.  His wife, Jan, knew his love every day. His four children could count on him for advice and worldly knowledge.  His 10 grandchildren will remember how he always took time for their stories and games.  His love reached around the world to his 18 foreign exchange students and their families.  With bonus children in Switzerland, Germany, Denmark, Greece, Sweden, Belgium, Netherlands, Finland and Norway, he could strike up a conversation with any of his children 24 hours a day.  He was a devoted church goer and would donate his time, food and energy for the fellow man.  Through the years, he enjoyed golf, bowling, Rough Riders baseball and chatting with friends over coffee.  He was one in a million and he will be missed by his family and friends.

The last days of Doug's life were spent in ICU at the Plano Heart Hospital.  Medicare and insurance will not cover all the medical expenses and we don't want Jan to face that financial burden.  Our goal is $10,000 and the funds are needed now.  Blake, the oldest son and executor of his dad's estate, is handling the expenses.
