Dougy Dawg Memorial Fund

It is with a heavy heart in which we announce the passing of our father, Doug Terrill, known by many as "Dougy Dawg." He left us peacefully in the night Friday September 29th 2023 while holding his only son's hand and surrounded by close family. He was 66 years old and will be remembered by countless friends and family, including his three daughters, his son, and his 3 grandchildren.
Our dad, Pa, lived an adventurous life on his own terms. We described him in the hospital as a Viking cowboy who dreamed big dreams. Those dreams led him in a fulfilling career as an electrician, traveling the world to various US Embassies for work. It brings us joy to know there's a piece of his presence all around the world. He also had several side endeavors that led to his ownership of the largest BBQ in town.
Pa was also a collector of many collections. Collecting both cool trinkets and materials from his travels around the world and his many many stories. He had a large collection of vintage cars, and an enormous collection of wood that could be said to have been envied by many... which he enjoyed showing to anyone brave enough to look.
Pa was "Bad Santa" all year long, encouraging all the pretty ladies to sit on his lap and tell him their naughtiest wishes... gross Pa.
Doug's adventure came to an end after a medical emergency on September 22nd brought him to the ER. He was soon transferred to the ICU and his family was called upon to fulfill his wishes. We gathered around him for his final farewell.
We will miss his belly laughs, his cooking, and his tendencies to feed the whole neighborhood. We will miss his many and often inappropriate stories. We will miss his "Honey's" and "Darlin's". We Will miss his pride in the work that he did, and the displays of his many collections.
The funds gathered in this fundraiser will go towards settling his outstanding end-of-life expenses and to fund a memorial service. We hope to throw a celebration fit for "The Dougy". The current plan is to celebrate his life in spring 2024 at which his beloved BBQ will be used to cater to revelers who come to experience the Dougy Dawg way of life.
We would like to present Pa's remains along with collages of pictures of him throughout his life. If you have a picture that you would like to share. Please contact Laura via this posting or facebook.
