Dove Science Academy Ethics Team

I am the coach of Dove Science Academy's Ethics Team. Our students have worked extremely hard this year, practicing during lunches, after-school, and even on weekends. On January 19th, at the Oklahoma High School Ethics Bowl, Dove Science Academy Ethics Team won first place out of twenty-five teams. As a result of their dedication, they have earned an invitation to compete in April at the Ethics Bowl National Competition at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.  This is the second time in three years that our students have earned this honor of representing Oklahoma, but our school and our students can't afford the funds necessary to cover the cost of travel and accommodations for the trip.  It would mean the world to our students to be able to represent themselves, our school, and our state at the national championship.

Dove Science Academy is a small public charter school in Oklahoma City. The majority of our students are minority students who fall well-below the poverty level: in fact, 83% of our students qualify for free/reduced lunches.  My students very much appreciate each donation to help them make this important and well-earned trip.
