Doverhouse Lions Boxing Club

Hi all,

We, Angelo and Filipe are appealing to all of you wonderful people to help us with a community

project we have our hearts set on. We voluntarily run Doverhouse Lions Boxing Club up at Dover

House playing field in Putney, offering an adult and a children’s session on a Saturday morning. As

we are community focused, the sessions we provide are free for children and super affordable for

adults. This allows us to really help those who have been suffering both physically and mentally,

especially during the pandemic.

The problem we have is that we are currently using an open front tractor shed to train in with little

space to fit people in. The lack of room and the fact that we are exposed to bad weather means we

won't be able to cater for more people due to the lack of space and also we won't be able to

continue providing boxing sessions throughout the winter due to the lack of cover.

The money we are looking to raise will help us upcycle an old disused shed situated a few metres

away from where we already train and turn it into a boxing gym. This shed has the space to hold up

to 10 punch bags of various styles and sizes but more importantly, it provides shelter from bad

weather. Money would also be used to provide adequate boxing equipment to allow us to grow the

club and introduce more boxing sessions throughout the week.

Any amount of money donated will be greatly appreciated by us but also by every single person who

turns up to train.
