Dover Western Heights Preservation Society
I'm raising money in aid of the DOVER WESTERN HEIGHTS PRESERVATION SOCIETY and every donation will help.
UPDATE NOVEMBER 2023: We are looking to restore floor surfaces to Caponiers 1 and 2 for the first time since WW2 to allow the public to access them and give a feel of a Victorian gunroom. The cost of the wood for each floor is approximately £3000 each.
We are a small group of volunteers who look after the amazing Drop Redoubt fort, Grand Shaft staircase and North Entrance tunnel as part of the massive Napoleonic and Victorian defensive works at the Western Heights.
We receive virtually no official funding and are completely reliant on contributions from the public for our works.
We undertake renovation and clearance works at the fort, hold Open Weekends, provide tours for the public and school groups, undertake research, and much more. In addition, we are the only group in Dover that works to publicise this forgotten military heritage.
We can only continue thanks to the public.
Thank you in advance for your contribution to this cause which means so much to us.
