Do you Dig Dover St Edible Park? Keep Dover St Edible Park alive and thriving in 2019. We no longer have operating funds for this unique open Oakland Edible Park. We have an all volunteer maintenance crew for 2019 and rely on our beloved community to sustain us. Please spread the word to those that enjoy picking flowers, fruits, and veggies from Oakland's 1st public edible park. Free produce for the people!
Dover St Edible Park is:
-Home to the Fresh Fellow Youth Food Justice Training Program
-1/4 acre of unique edible green space open to the public
-Home to 100+ edible varieties of annual and perennial veggies from around the world
-A food farmacy that serves patients at Children's Hospital Oakland and Self Help Hunger Program's weekly free meal around the block
-An urban orchard with 70+ mature fruit trees
-Produces over 3500lbs of free food each year including many foods that arent readily available (chayotte, sweet potatoe greens, banana stems/leaves, edible flowers, and many medicinal plants
Funds will be used for:
-Seeds
-Irrigation Supplies
-Outdoor Classroom and Kitchen
-Youth Stipends
-Tools
