Dovi's Service Dog Training Costs

My name is Zipporah, I'm 25 years old, and I'm disabled.
If you follow me on Twitter you probably know the story already, but just in case you don't:
I'm taking on the daunting task of training a service dog, with the ultimate goal of being able to move out of my parents' home and live independently.
A service dog would enable me to live more independently. I would no longer be dependent upon a human companion, but rather, would simply have my best good boy doing all the things I need help to do!!
After years of applying to unaffordable programs and doing research, I decided to train my own service dog instead of applying to a program to buy a fully-trained service dog--a process that usually takes 2-3 years, and costs between $20,000-$25,000. Training your own service dog costs considerably less than getting a fully-trained dog through a program, but is still expensive and time-consuming, and can take about two years and up to $10,000, depending on your experience (and I have none).
The stars aligned and a pup fell into my life on my 25th birthday. I named him Dovi Ber, and he's my best friend. Since then, we've been working hard together to create a solid, trusting, loving partnership. After doing my own training for the first half a year of Dovi's life, we are now ready to work with a program to help me finish his training over the next year. This GoFundMe covers the cost of his training, including a year of the training program, estimated cost of training treats, estimated cost of gas to and from the training school (due to living in rural Maine, we have a bit of a schlep to get to the location of the training school), and estimated cost of other miscellaneous relevant supplies (like a new vests as Dovi continues to grow, doggy dumbbells, and a hands-free leash).
