Downie Family’s Motor Neurone Disease Fight.

Sadly, Stephen Downie received a diagnosis of not only Motor Neurone Disease but also Progressive Multiple Sclerosis.
Stephen is one of only five people in total with this diagnosis worldwide.
This is a diagnosis which is absolutely devastating for Stephen, his wife Bec and their three daughters, Kaylan 17, Indy 15 and Zali 12.
It is a rapidly fatal disease.
Despite this diagnosis the Downie family remain optimistic for a cure.

About the family ...
Stephen and Bec are Central Coast locals who have lived here almost their whole lives.. High school sweethearts in fact !
Stephen has worked for Mars for 16 years and Bec is a Midwife at Gosford Hospital.
They have three amazing girls, the oldest Kaylan is currently doing her HSC.
Stephen and Bec have always been very active in the community.. through Ourimbah Rugby Club and Local Oz tag.
Stephen is a super fit 40 year old and has always included fitness into his life.. he loves the gym, running and pretty much anything outdoors and active.
Bec is known to so many families on the Coast as she has lovingly supported them to bring their beautiful babies safely into the world.
The one thing Bec wants to make sure everyone knows about Stephen, is that he is the most beautiful, kind, supportive and involved dad to their girls.. with Bec’s Uni degree and following on call shift work as a Midwife, Stephen has been the girls rock and they are all incredibly close.
This Go Fund Me page has been organised by a group of Bec’s Uni friends and Midwifery colleagues who will also be hosting a Motor Neurone Disease Ice Bucket Challenge on Sunday August 11th at Bec and Stephens home in Lisarow .. 5 + Midwives will be dunked on the day, Bec included !
Please give generously to this wonderful local family who have lived their lives giving to our local community.. it’s time for us to give a little back to them.
