Dad's Funeral Cost
Donation protected
I never imagined telling my dad's story like this, but as heartbreaking as it is, it is the way to give my dad peace and a final goodbye that he deserves.
My dad's name is Oscar Osorio, but he loved to address himself as Loboboy70. My name is Abigail. I am the oldest of his two daughters (the youngest Karina)- and the little boy you see next to him is his one and only grandson, Jujito (that's what my dad used to call him). The three of us are the reason my dad fought for as long as he could.
My dad's underlying condition was type 2 diabetes, which he had for nearly 8 years. It all started when his doctor told us that his kidneys were failing and he was going to need weekly dialysis. While my dad was being hospitalized for the kidney failure, he began to develop respiratory issues. Soon after, his blood pressure became low and his oxygen levels dropped, which caused him to go into cardiac arrest. Due to the cardiac arrest, my dad required life supporting medication: one to stabilize his low blood pressure and a ventilator to help his breathing, through a tracheostomy. He then showed fluid in his lungs, which turned out to be pneumonia. While he was being treated for that infection, he then caught another infection that was more alerting in his bloodstream. When they told me about his new infection, they also said he was showing signs of liver damage that was indicating possible organ failure. Overall, his blood pressure was no longer stablizing, no matter the medication he was being given. After extreme measures, we were given one more option to buy my dad some more time with us. We decided to take it. Unfortunately, he passed away within three hours.
The amount of love and care my dad carried in his heart was enormous. It all started with his family, which was always my mom, my sister, my son and I. He made sure that we were ful of happiness, and always safe, and that nothing was ever missing for us. I can sit here and list out the ways my dad made sure my sisterand I had everything we needed and wanted, but the list would be neverending because he always outdid himself. And that all came from the generosity of his enormous heart. He never left our side and even though he is gone, I know he hasn't left us. He is still here. My father was an amazing dad and I hope to be as great of a parent as he was to me, to my own son.
Not only was he an amazing father, but he was a beautiful human being. For those who were lucky enough to have him in their life, always knew they had a good friend. My dad gave to those who didn't have and didn't expect anything in return. My dad was so kind, that he was there for people he didn't really know. He was never the first to judge. And anyone who crossed paths with him can tell you he was a good man.
With that being said, your donations would help us cover the expense of a proper and well-deserving farewell to my father.
Throughout all his suffering, I believe this can finally bring him some peace into his afterlife. Thank you for taking the time to get to know a part of my dad. Anything helps.
