Help Ahmed's family get out of Gaza Strip

In the heart of the Gaza Strip, lies the story of my family—a tale of resilience, perseverance, and the pursuit of a better life amidst conflict.

I'm Ahmed Timraz, a 30-year-old married resident of Gaza, urgently seeking your support to help my family escape the ongoing conflict. With our home destroyed and lives at risk, we need assistance to secure safety and start anew.

Our family consists of six members: my elderly parents Khalil (75 Years) and Najla (Nelly) (60 Years), my wife Aya, and my brothers Mahmoud and Mouhammed.

The family house stood as a testament to my parents' unwavering determination, built with every penny saved by my hardworking father. Over time, it grew into a sanctuary filled with love and cherished memories, sheltering our dreams and aspirations. I worked diligently to construct my own apartment within it, symbolizing my commitment and perseverance. However, conflict ravaged our homeland, turning our sanctuary into rubble and ash. Our once-vibrant walls echoed with laughter and joy, now a haunting reminder of devastation. Forced to flee, we left behind our beloved home, seeking shelter elsewhere. The house, bombed and destroyed, compelled us to move from the north to the south of the Gaza Strip in search of safety for me and my family.

After being displaced to the southern Gaza Strip about five months ago, my elderly parents, afflicted with chronic diseases, endure the harsh reality of war. Struggling to cope with dire conditions exacerbated by conflict, they face a constant battle for survival. The scarcity of basic necessities such as medicine, water, food, and shelter intensifies their daily hardships. Their advanced age renders them more vulnerable, amplifying the distress caused by the uncertainty of their future. Their exit from Gaza is imperative for their well-being, promising the hope of a decent life beyond the confines of conflict-stricken lands.

As the sole breadwinner, I face immense challenges working remotely due to Gaza's unreliable electricity and internet. Despite holding two jobs, at a local organization called Injaz Palestine, whose the Gaza office was destroyed and stopped working due to the war and a communications engineer working remotely for a US-based company, frequent power outages and limited connectivity severely disrupt my ability to fulfill professional responsibilities. The struggle to provide for my family's basic needs is exacerbated by these conditions, creating a constant battle against the harsh realities of war. Yet, amidst the adversity, I persist, driven by the unwavering determination to secure a better future despite the daily obstacles presented by the lack of reliable infrastructure.

In our new life, my wife Aya struggles with daily suffering due to the lack of privacy, difficulty adapting to our reality, and the psychological toll of war. She grapples with overwhelming distress, feeling isolated and overwhelmed amidst chaos. Constant fear of losing her life and loved ones weighs heavily on her, leaving her emotionally drained. Despite her resilience, Aya navigates each day with a heavy heart and constant dread, battling relentless hardships that leave her exhausted.

My brothers, Mahmoud and Mouhammed, both face significant challenges in their respective professions amidst the turmoil in Gaza. Mahmoud, a 26-year-old freelancer, struggles with frequent blackouts and lack of internet access, hindering his online work and impacting his income. Despite a potential job opportunity in Egypt, travel restrictions loom over him. Meanwhile, Mouhammed, a 24-year-old pharmacist, lost his job when the pharmacy company was destroyed during the war. His inability to secure employment exacerbates our family's financial struggles.

Our immediate goal is to raise $35,000 for travel to a safer location and $25,000 for housing, furnishings, and living expenses for the first six months post-displacement.

Your contribution, regardless of size, will make a difference in our lives. Help us break free from suffering and embrace a future of dignity and prosperity. Thank you for your support in paving the way for a new beginning.
