Kneading Kitty’s Rescue is a 501(c)3 foster based rescue. In the last year we have saved 300 number of cats/kittens and found forever homes for 240 cats/kittens. No one in our rescue gets paid in any way- it is all done for love. And if love paid the bills we would be fine- but we all know it doesn’t. In the past few months we’ve experienced a high number of medical cases- from cats saved from a hoarding situation who has severe dental issues, to a litter of cerebellar hypoplasia kittens that needed special accommodations to multiple litters of kittens that came into the rescue sick- the vet bills have mounted. We “knead” your help. Our latest major medical case is a sweet little boy named Clementine. Clem is only two and a half months old- and has been diagnosed with Feline Infectious Peritonitis (FIP). He’s had an uphill battle since birth, when he was born underweight from a feral mom we took in to do Trap Neuter Return. He was rejected by his mom, but taken in by another nursing mom. He survived and grew, always remaining undersized but healthy- and then FIP struck. Given his struggles, his age and his size, treating him for FIP is an expensive long shot. But that is not who we are- and if you met Clem you’d feel the same. His energy and will to live are remarkable. Despite having to receive daily injections and other medical treatments the first thing this sweet little boy does when he sees a human is run to them to be cuddled, purring all the while. He’s got a long way to go, but we have hope.
