More About Me:
My name is Ben Alfaro. I'm a 24-year old Detroit resident originally from Ann Arbor. I grew up just down the street from Mary's Fabulous Chicken & Fish and grew up eating their food. Although I don't know the Kim family more than as a customer, I am part of the neighborhood they've worked for over the past 32 years.
The intention of this fundraiser is to financially support the Kim family in their time of need. Once the fundraiser formally ends, I plan to unveil a big check in the full amount to the family during business hours and include the names of all those who donated.
Once given, I imagine the funds will go to offset some of the costs inflicted during the incident, but also for them to use however they wish -- buying new equipment, going on a vacation, et cetera. This is as much an emergency support as it is a community saying Thank You for such a committed institution in the city of Ann Arbor.
