Angel was Born in Havana, Cuba October 26, 1966

Lived in Matanzas until the age of 19

He was an exceptional student who was loved by his professors, peers and friends. Since he was a kid, he had old soul and connected and loved by older people.

He studied the first two years of Medical Sciences at the Carlos J. Finlay Institute of Medical Sciences, Faculty of Matanzas.

In April 1986 he moved with the family to Havana and in 1987 he continued his third year of Medicine at the Enrique Cabrera School and ended up graduating from the Miguel Enríquez School around 1990.

He dedicated two years to Social Service in the province of Guantanamo, Cuba. Loved by all and was, literally, another "Guajiro" playing the Guitar in each "Guateque".

In 1992 he returned to Havana and began the Specialty of Comprehensive General Medicine (Family Practice) in 1993 and graduated in 1996. He was an exceptional neighbor, always taking care of everyone!

In 1996, with his vast medical knowledge and advanced English language skills, it led him to an employment contract with the South African nation (South Africa). He saved countless lives intervening in traumas, helping children to come into the world in the specialty of obstetrics, relieved pain as a surgeon and even offered anesthesia to patients in the emergencies.

He met Karen Joyce Brill in 1996 and in 1998 she became Karen J. Garcia Sousa. Angel was highly respected and loved by the bride's parents and siblings. In 1998, their son Jonathan Alexis Garcia Sousa  was born.

In 2004, life led him to the United States of America with his parents Angel and Asela; and his brother Alexis. Always watching over everyone, he began the reunification process with Karen and Jonathan.

Angel began nursing studies at Florida International University where, as a foreign doctor, he achieved became a Registered Nurse with a Bachelor Degree in Nursing, then a Master Degree in Nursing as an  Adult Nurse Practitioner. After he completed a Post Masters Degree in Family Nurse Practitioner at Miami Regional University, and Doctor in Nursing Practice at Florida International University. His medical and nursing professional development led him to the world of higher learning where he became a professors at Miami Regional Institute (MRI) where he began as an assistant professor, at Miami Regional College (MRC) he was already a clinical coordinator, ambassador and professor at the clinical area. Then at Miami Regional University (MRU) he rose to rank of Associate Dean of the two largest nursing programs in the University, the Direct Entry MSN and Family Nurse Practitioner Programs.

Angel also worked as a Nurse Practitioner rounding in Hospitals, Nursing Homes and other medical facilities. It is in medical practice where he met the family of Dr. Ramses Vega with whom he shared the care of patients and a deep spiritual growth. He rounded in hospital all across Miami and had special relationship with all the patients, doctors, nurses and staff. Angel also treated people during the COVID-19 Pandemic in an Rite Care Urgent Center. He was also the Doctor of all his family and friends. If you needed help Angel was there to serve always!!!

Angel honored God as an exceptional son, brother and father to Alexis and Jonathan. As a husband he complied with everything, respect, love, and a lot of attention.

Angel was a dear friend to everyone he met. He was a devoted son, dedicated husband and father, brother in Christ, loving and responsible brother-in-law and Uncle “TATA”. He was a universal father figure to all and always with an open heart for the whole family.

Angel will be forever missed by all this friends and family. He is survived by his wife Karen and son Jonathan who this Go Fund ME Page is dedicated to. Angel was the sole financial provider for his family. All money collected through this fund, is to help alleviate his family’s financial burden during this extremely difficult time and transition.

Nació en La Habana 26 de Octubre de 1966.

Matanzas hasta los 19 años.

Alumno excepcional y muy querido por sus maestros y amigos. Desde niño un espíritu adulto y muy querido por las personas de mayor edad.

Estudia los primeros dos años de Ciencias Médicas en el Instituto de Ciencias Médicas Carlos J. Finlay, Facultad de Matanzas.

En Abril de 1986 se muda con la familia a La Habana y en 1987 continúa el tercer año de Medicina en la Facultad Enrique Cabrera y termino graduándose en La Facultad Miguel Enríquez hacia 1990.

Dedicó dos años al Servicio Social en la provincia de Guantanamo, Cuba. Querido por todos y fue, literalmente, un “Guajiro” más tocando la Guitarra en cada “Guateque”.

En 1992 regresa a La Habana y comienza la Especialidad de Medicina General Integral (Family Practice) en 1993 y se graduó en 1996. Vecino excepcional muy ocupado siempre por todos!

En 1996, el dominio del idioma Ingles y los conocimientos médicos lo llevaron an un contrato de trabajo con la nación Sudafriana (South Africa). Salvó vidas interviniendo en traumas, ayudando niños a venir al mundo en la especialidad de obstetricia, alivió dolores como cirujano e incluso ofreció anestesia a pacientes en urgencias.

Conoció a Karen Joyce Brill en 1996 y en 1998 ya era Karen J. García Sousa, se casaron, muy respetado y querido por los padres y hermanos de la novia. En 1998 nace Jonathan Alexis García Sousa, su hijo.

En 2004, la vida lo condujo a Los Estados Unidos de America con sus padres Ángel y Asela; y su hermano Alexis. Siempre velando por todos, comenzó el proceso de reunificación con Karen y Jonathan.

Comienza estudios de Enfermería en Florida International University donde, como Médico extranjero, se gradúa de Register Nurse, Bachelor of Nursing, Master in Nursing, Family Nurse Practitioner en Miami Regional University, y Doctor in Nursing Practice en Florida International University. Su desarrollo profesional lo llevó a funciones educativas al futuro de la ciencia en Los Estados Unidos y forma parte de los profesores en Miami Regional Institute (MRI) donde comenzó siendo assistant professor, en Miami Regional College (MRC) ya era coordinador clínico y profesor del área clínica y, en Miami Regional University (MRU) asistente Director del Programa de Enfermería de Enfermero Practicante de familia.

Conoció en el proceso a la familia del Dr. Ramses Vega con quien compartió el cuidado de los pacientes y un profundo crecimiento espiritual.

Honra a Dios como hijo excepcional, Honra a Dios como hermano y padre que es de Alexis y Jonathan. Como esposo cumplió con todo, respeto, amor, y muchísima atención.

Amigo entrañable, hijo entregado, hermano religioso, padre universal, esposo dedicado, cuñado cariñoso y responsable, tío TATA con todo el amor de un abuelo, siempre con el corazón abierto para toda la familia.


Con mucho amor tu eposa Karen, hijo Jonathan, hermano Alexis y madre Asela. 



Todos sus amigos y familiares extrañarán a Ángel para siempre. Le sobreviven su esposa Karen y su hijo Jonathan, a quienes está dedicada esta página de Go Fund ME.
