Remembering Dr. Benjamin Mauck: A Call for Support

July 11, 2024, marks a solemn Remembrance Day for a beloved and respected member of our medical community, Dr. Benjamin Mauck. On this day one year ago, Ben's life was tragically cut short when he was shot and killed at Campbell Clinic while trying to help a patient in need. The unthinkable happened, leaving a void in the lives of all who knew him.

To know Ben was to understand that the esteemed title of “Doctor” paled in comparison to the joy he found in being called "Daddy." The best part of his day was walking through the back door to the hugs and giggles of his children. Now, Ben will never walk through that door again. His two young children will never again get to utter the words “I love you, Daddy!” He can never hold his beloved wife, Rhiannon, in his strong arms again.

Please, take a moment to think about you or someone in your family facing the heartbreaking challenge of moving forward without a loved one. For most, “it’s been a whole year.” But for Ben's wife, Rhiannon, and their young son and daughter, this tragedy feels like it happened yesterday. Their lives have been irreparably changed, their future forever altered by this devastating event.

Imagine their future without Ben: his guiding influence on his children's lives as they grow and develop, the deep love for Rhiannon, the strength and security he provided for the family. All gone in the blink of an eye.

On this somber anniversary, we are reaching out to those who knew Ben, those who were touched by his healing hands, and those who can empathize with this profound loss. We ask you to show your support for his family.
