Support Dr Calista's Family: A Brave Doctor's Final Journey

Donation protected
Hi, my name is Dr Olasunkanmi Owolabi. I am raising funds to cover the funeral cost of Calista and to support her young family as they mourn the passing of a beloved wife, mother and daughter.
Dr. Calista Ugwu (Nee Anyanwu) was a young medical doctor, wife, and mother whose life was tragically cut short at 31. She was a loving wife and devoted mother of three children, all under the age of five. She had a passion for medicine and a heart full of love for her family, friends, and faith.

She was originally from Ikeduru in Imo State, Nigeria, and raised in Port Harcourt, Rivers State. Calista pursued her medical education at Madonna University between 2008 and 2018.

In the past 5 years, Calista had battled bravely against recurrent benign breast lump that later became malignant. She had undergone multiple treatments both in Nigeria and here in the UK. On the morning of October 12th, 2024, Calista sadly passed away, leaving behind her loving husband, her son, a set of twins, her parents and siblings.

Throughout her battle with this health condition, she remained resilient, completing her Master’s in Public Health in March 2024, passing her PLAB 1 exams, and successfully completing her PLAB 2 exams in July 2024. These professional exams are necessary for international doctors to practice in the UK, and she pursued them relentlessly despite her declining health.

She had big dreams and a bright future. She fought valiantly, achieving so much even while enduring unimaginable pain.

Calista’s family is now facing an overwhelming financial burden, having recently completed payments for her Master’s degree and professional exams. Calista had been unable to work for months due to her illness, leaving her husband to manage the weight of these bills alone.

We are humbly seeking your support to assist her family with funeral arrangements and to care for her young children. Your generous donations will go a long way in easing the financial strain on her husband and young children as they navigate this heartbreaking loss.

Your kind support will honour her memory and help this grieving family through their darkest days.
Thank you for your generosity and prayers.
