Dr. Faye A. Brathwaite

Dear family members and friends,

The Brathwaite and Trotman families are deeply saddened by the recent passing of an intellectual giant and remarkable person, Dr. Faye Ann Brathwaite. She was a compassionate Christian wife, mother, sister, and aunt who was held in high esteem by academic colleagues, and those within her faith community. Her sudden departure has left us bewildered and heartbroken, combined with an aching desire to fill the immeasurable void losing her has created.

Faye’s sterling reputation for demonstrating godly selflessness to numerous students who matriculated through Oakwood University and other educational institutions was established over many years of devoted service. Her expert knowledge and commitment to excellence was copiously bestowed on the students she caringly shepherded throughout their academic journeys.

Reciprocally, family members, close friends, and grateful former students have asked us to give them the opportunity to honor and memorialize Faye’s exemplary personal life and illustrious professional career with their financial gifts.
