Brilliant… Funny…. Full of life…. Dog Lover…Selfless. These are a few words that describe my aunt, Dr. Ida Arlene Joiner. Her unexpected death September 21 has impacted lots of people from her hometown of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, all the way down to her most recent home in Fort Worth, Texas. I have received phone calls and text messages from so many people who loved her. She has built authentic relationships with people across racial, socioeconomic, political, and religious backgrounds. The outpouring of love and support for her has been a blessing to see. We even have notes from some of the students she taught over the years. What a beautiful legacy she will leave!
As her nephew I have been tasked and honored to make sure she is put to rest in a dignified way for a truly dignified woman. The funds you donate will be used for final expenses, memorial services in both Fort Worth and Pittsburgh (Dates TBD) shipping for family heirlooms & her personal effects, as well as lawyer fees for her estate.
Transparently, I have not been able to locate a life insurance policy, so anything you are able to contribute is a true blessing.
From myself and the entire Joiner family… Thank you and my God Bless you!
Sincerely, Joseph J. Joiner III (JJ)
