Dr. Ingrid Simkins

On September 9th, 2022, Ingrid Simkins passed too soon. The news of her passing has devastated many. Her daughter Isabelle posted this to her Facebook page: “I am sure none of us ever saw this coming so soon, so quickly. I do not know if anyone could have ever guessed, I know I never did. For those of you who do not know, my mother had cancer, which only became news to us about a week ago. We never knew how far along it was or how much time we had left with her, but we at least had the chance to say goodbye. Please find some comfort in knowing that she was surrounded by her loved ones and friends and that she had an easy, comfortable transition into the next life.”

Ingrid Simkins is a beloved mother, sister, daughter, friend, nurse, educator, mentor, and colleague. She influenced all who were lucky enough to cross her path. Ingrid was professional in her interactions with colleagues and students. She was graceful in how she handled stressful situations. Ingrid was compassionate to those in her care. She was fiercely loyal to her people. Her legacy will last for generations as she has helped positively influence thousands of nursing students and graduates.

We thank anyone who feels led to give and support this remarkable woman’s legacy and celebration of life.
