Dr. Lucille McCauley Memorial Fund

Dr. Lucille Doak-McCauley was suddenly and tragically taken from all of us on February 15, 2018 in Columbus, Ohio. Dr. McCauley was employed as an optometrist for Columbus Neighborhood Health (also known as the Primary One Health outreach clinic), where she served as an extern preceptor for several years. She was beloved by the patients for whom she cared, as well as the optometry students she guided, and will be missed sorely. Lucille was a beloved daughter, sister, colleague and friend.

Lucille and I attended The Ohio State College of Optometry together and she was my mentee. Optometry is a family and like many, we are greatly affected by her passing. After speaking with Lucille's family and seeing the need, we decided that this memorial was appropriate and necessary.

This memorial fund is being established for the sake of her son and daughter. We want to ease the financial burden that comes with losing one's mother so suddenly and tragically. This memorial fund will help to take care of the funeral expenses and establish a nest egg for her children's future. The funds you provide will be donated to Lucille's family for her children's ongoing needs and education. Any donation, no matter how small is greatly appreciated.
