Dr. David Luttinen's Family Support

Donation protected
David Luttinen DVM, DABVP (Canine/Feline) unexpectedly passed away November 7th, 2020, leaving behind his wife Jennifer and their four daughters Zoie, Bridgett, Ysabel and Amanda. In August of 2005, David and Jennifer purchased the Wheaton Way Veterinary Hospital and served the local community of Bremerton, WA for over fifteen years.

David was a mentor to many and continually encouraged  everyone he met. His mentorship was not limited to the study of sciences but to men's ministries, fatherhood, and living a fruitful life through his trust in Jesus. Many knew him to have a curiosity for life, a endless ability to teach and a zeal for learning which was contagious and inspiring to all.

He had a heart too big for one man. He didn't just love life, he enjoyed it. David found joy in any little thing; it could just be sitting around at home with his family, going on many activity filled trips or even working with his wife and daughter. David loved to spend time with his family, visit Disneyland (his favorite place) watch the Seahawks, WSU football and play video games. His humor was obvious, witty and sometimes completely inappropriate. He was always known for a good laugh. He would teasingly entice his own nieces and nephews to silly activities such as jumping into Kitsap Lake in early April, and to his surprise they were always up for the challenge.

Our goal is to help the family with their immediate needs through this abrupt trauma that has changed their lives forever. David suffered in silence, but unfortunately he could not see the hope on the other side. The family is working through the grief and the hole it has left in each of their hearts. There really isn't a way to put into words to a pre-teen that her father isn't coming home, or a teenager who just got her license that daddy won't be there for your graduation. This will be a long and arduous road for the immediate family. David was like the glue that we all looked to in those awkward silences. He left behind a pile of broken hearts yearning for his return but still believing he is only on a trip. The reality is too painful to watch, listen or hear so they fight every day for some type of indication life will be okay. Unfortunately, the tasks and the work that follows ones departure is grueling and sets each person back every time they must utter the words "He is gone". The family has indicated any funds not used for these needs will be distributed to Suicide Prevention and Help Groups.
