Dr. Nickole Scott Conerly's Care
Donation protected
Last week, Dr. Nickole Scott Conerly went missing while walking the dog near her home in Washington, DC. Dr. Scott Conerly spent her life working as a psychologist for Howard University until moving to the Middle East to help American Soldiers suffering from PTSD. Recently, however, Dr. Scott Conerly has been struggling with rapidly progressing Alzheimers despite her relatively young age.
Thanks to the diligent efforts of the DC police and neighbors, Dr. Scott Conerly was found a day-and-a-half later a whopping two miles from her home. She was taken to the hospital where she was treated for dehydration, had surgery on a broken ankle, and has since been recovering.
Sadly, Dr. Scott Conerly does not remember what happened while she was missing, nor the events leading up to it. Her Alzheimers has reached a point where she will require full-time care. Thankfully, there is a wonderful facility close to family where she can stay and is slated to move into immediately.
It is truly wonderful that Dr. Scott Conerly was found so quickly and that despite her injuries, has made a great recovery. However, with all this good news comes the difficulty of the path forward.
Her awesome son (and one of the coolest people you will ever meet), Carrington, will have to make frequent trips from Ohio (where he lives and works) in order to renovate Dr. Scott Conerly's house in preparation for renting it out. It will take a while to get the home ready and to finally get the rental income to help with the cost of Dr. Scott Conerly's new facility. As anyone who has worked with long-term care knows, these facilities are quite expensive, and any donation will go to help this transition for the Conerly family. Carrington, Dr. Scott Conerly, and the rest of the family has a lot of work to do in the coming months, and any donations to support them would be greatly appreciated. Even if we can only cover a couple flights for Carrington, it will help out a ton!
Thanks so much, everyone. Dr. Scott Conerly has spent her whole live helping others and not only needs, but deserves our help now!
