Dr. Paul Heavner OD

On the evening of September 1, 2023, Dr. Paul Heavner had a fatal heart attack at the young age of 64.

Dr. Heavner had a history of heart disease starting at the age of 43, where it was learned that rheumatic fever as a child had damaged part of his heart. Ever since he struggled to get life insurance, which did not wish to accept him because of pre-existing conditions. It was an ongoing struggle, and at the time of his passing he still did not qualify for individual life insurance.

As the primary financial provider of the family, his early loss will be devastating for his family’s future. Dr. Heavner’s generosity and passionate participation in his community will be missed.

The Heavner family is deeply appreciative of the sympathy that has been shown and the assistance that has been given. The number of people who have asked ‘how may I help?’ has been overwhelming. In lieu of any flowers, any financial assistance freely offered will be greatly appreciated.
