Dr. Vlajko Kocic

My name is Leon Ramirez and some of you all know me as "Taz". I am making this for my best friend, Lubo, who's father recently passed away. Lubo is like a brother because his family has always treated me as if I were part of the family.

Dr. Vlajko Kocic is nothing short of brilliant. He and I have shared many conversations about mathematics and finance and I was always amazed by how much he knows. We talked about where things were going with R and Python and now, AI. I have always had a hard time calling him "Vlajko" because I have so much respect for him, his experience, and his family.

Dr. Kocic also talked to us about history and life while sharing some of the best dishes I have ever had in my life. I have always felt welcome in his home and country when I visit because I am welcomed with a hug and a shot of Rakija. We have shared many fun times playing boardgames and eating pastries with coffee after an authentic home-cooked meal. Spending time with this wonderful man is something I am grateful for.

I'm very thankful for Dr. Kocic because he also raised a wonderful son and friend of mine. If you know Lubo then you know he's a good person with a big heart and this is a reflection of how his father, Vlajko, is.

Dr. Kocic's wishes were to be buried in his home country, Serbia. Anything you all can help with is greatly appreciated. Any additional funds over the cost of transferring him, funeral, and burial services will be donated to charity (St. Basil Orthodox Church - Metairie, LA).
