Dr. Yaw A. Owusu FSU/FAMU University dedication page
The sudden death of Dr Yaw Owusu has left an enormous void in the hearts of many as he touched the lives of many people throughout his time with us on earth. He was loving husband, an incredible father and a committed mentor to many. Dr. Yaw Owusu played many important roles in his lifetime, a testament from his inspiring life accomplishment.
From humble beginnings in a small town in Central Ghana, he worked tirelessly to becoming an industrial/manufacturing engineer going on to become one of the founding faculty members and then chairman of the department of industrial engineering at FAMU-FSU; collaborating to develop groundbreaking inventions in the US and around the globe and being one of the first people to bring solar power technology to his people in Ghana in the early 1980s. Even during difficult times of his life such as when his older daughter, Dr. Nana Owusu, died from complications of Asthma, Dr Yaw Owusu made it his life’s mission to build clinics in his hometown to address respiratory illness. That was the kind of man he was.

Rev. Dr Yaw Owusu was a Pastor, a social activist, entrepreneur and a community leader whose mission was to create socioeconomic opportunities for the disadvantaged. He believed in Hope and anyone that met him will testify to that.
This page is here to celebrate his life and to tell a story of his achievements. He has left behind a wife, sons, daughters, grandchildren and many friends who want to carry on his inspiring mission through a memorial fund which will financially support his burial arrangement but most importantly this fund is Dr. Yaw A. Owusu Foundation Inc., which provides educational opportunities for young boys and girls interested in Engineering in Morso, Ghana.
The Life of Dr Yaw Owusu was an inspiring one. And we were privileged to have had him in our family. Thank you for your donation.
Sincerely,
The Owusu Family.
