Dr. Yves J. Jeanty Memorial Fund
Donation protected
Yves Jude Jeanty was born December 16, 1974 in Brooklyn, NY. He shared his life as a child with his mother Chantal Edouard, brother Ashmael, grandmother, aunts, uncles, and cousins. His childhood was filled with happy memories of family celebrations and gatherings which gave him a profound understanding of family values.
Yves dedication to his future and career began in his early teen years. In 1991, at the age of 16, he won eighth place in the Westinghouse Science Talent Search and was first published in the Journal of Negro Education for his writing on the Cytoskeletal Protein Distribution in the Leading Edge of a Cell as an Indicator of Cell Contact Inhibition of Motility. This would become his first of many published articles in the scientific field.
In the fall of 1991, Yves attended the University of Miami as a pre-med student. During his studies at UM, he went on to obtain his Bachelors, Masters, and Ph.D. in Sociology. While studying and working on his career, he married his wife Jeanisia; together, they shared two children, 9 year old son Oliver and 5 year old daughter Amelie.
As a professional, Yves dedicated his life to working on societal health research. Many hours, months and years were spent collecting data and fulfilling his desire to becoming a leader in his field.
In the early morning of Saturday, June 27, 2020 Yves Jude Jeanty passed away due to health complications. He is survived by his wife, Jeanisia; his children Oliver and Amelie; his mother Chantal Edouard, his brother Ashmael and his sister Yvette who will continue to love and honor his life's accomplishments and memories.
This memorial fund is established to aid his family with funeral arrangements. Any donations are welcomed and truly appreciated, as this was an unforeseen loss.
On behalf of the family of Yves Jude Jeanty, we all thank you for your participation and for your prayers.
