Note from Drake on 2/29:

Well friends it’s time to kick off the next season in my life. I was recently diagnosed with a lymphoma in my chest and will soon be embarking on chemotherapy. The last several months have been challenging, to say the least. Even though there have been times of depression, anger, and impatience, I’m an optimistic person by nature and I wasn’t ready to kick the bucket yet. I’ve also discovered what an amazing community of family and friends I have supporting me. Everyone gives me the strength to fight. I am blessed. So although I am relatively private, I am sharing this news with my extended “family”. It’ll be a tough journey ahead but my goal is to kick cancer’s ass and then return to playing soccer again. And living my life to the fullest.

As Drake begins his fight against Lymphoma, we want to show all our love. Hoping to raise a little money for him to use however it is helpful. His Nike family and the community at large are organizing to show an outpouring of support.
