Dr. Dan Erickson has spent over four decades helping people and organizations define, develop and deploy their God-given potential. Dan is a devoted husband, a caring father, a loving grandfather, a committed friend and a servant leader. If Dan had to be described in a simple phrase it would be: “Dan is the best!”
Recently, after a number of seemingly unrelated heath setbacks, Dan was diagnosed with ALS (also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease). The disease has already affected his ability to travel as a keynote speaker; there are changes in his balance, and his arm strength and grip have started to weaken.
Dan continues to share his God-given message with everyone he meets. He is quick to encourage others with a smile and kind word. He builds up people by telling them: “You are the best! Now you have to be who you are.” While Dan continues to write and minister, life is beginning to look very different from what he has known. This has affected his ability to earn a living. In addition, the family is expecting significant medical expenses that will not be covered by insurance.
You will hear him quote the hymn by Edward Mote, “My Hope is Built on Nothing Less”.
“My hope is built on nothing less
than Jesus' blood and righteousness;
I dare not trust the sweetest frame,
but wholly lean on Jesus' name.”
This fund is established to help Dan and his wife Cathy adapt to the “new normals” of navigating life with ALS. The challenges are unpredictable and the costs can be great. Contributions will go toward medical expenses and general living expenses.
