DREAM BIG BEDROOMS

Hi! My name is Susan Jenkins. I am an Interior Designer in the Nashville area working to create Dream BIG Bedrooms for kids facing life-threatening illnesses. My husband sits on the TN board of HopeKids, a charity we’ve been involved with for several years. Through the organization, I met a very special little girl named Breanna who defines joy and bravery and remains unbelievably grateful, no matter her circumstance. We met when she was just seven years old and had been in remission from brain cancer for over a year. At ten years old, her battle has resumed, with a recent diagnosis that two tumors are back. I decided I wanted to create a dream bedroom for Breanna, which I personally funded and was completed at the end of August. It was one of the greatest joys and honors of my life. The experience also inspired me to create Dream BIG Bedrooms to help so many other children like Breanna.

Sadly, these kids spend weeks and months in hospitals, only to spend weeks and months recovering in their bedrooms. Due to the emotional and financial devastation most families face, creating a space these kiddos are excited to come home to is typically not possible, but I can assure you there is a legitimate need. I believe we, as a society, are finally recognizing the impact our everyday surroundings have on our overall well-being. It is my goal to surround our bravest little heroes in spaces they deserve- spaces that promote joy, hope, and healing. For every $5,000 in donations reached, another well-deserving child will receive a Dream BIG Bedroom.

I know that with your help, Breanna's beautiful ripple will become one magnificent tidal wave.
