Dream Big Cambodia: Empowering Dreams, Transforming Lives!

Greetings from Dream Big Cambodia! We hope this message finds you well and full of positive energy. Since our founding in 2016, Dream Big Cambodia has been a beacon of hope, providing free English lessons to over 300 children and young students aged 3 to 25 in our own School Cristina, and Public School Phum Steung in the Bakong community (Siem Reap - Cambodia).

We would like to express our deepest gratitude for your generous contribution to our 2023 GoFundMe campaign for our Dream Big Cambodia school. Your support has played a crucial role in making a positive impact on our community, and we want to share with you the tangible results of your donation during 2023:

School Materials: Your contribution enabled us to provide essential school materials for our students, ensuring they have the tools they need for a quality education.

School renovation: We were able to refresh the school's appearance through a fresh coat of paint, creating a more vibrant and conducive learning environment. Additionally, your support helped implement a new, safer electrical system for the school.

Recreation and Play: Thanks to your generosity, we were able to purchase new toys and games, enhancing the recreational opportunities for our students and promoting a more enjoyable and well-rounded educational experience.

Community Kitchen: Your support extended to our local team, including providing new kitchen appliances and utensils for SokNim, ensuring that our staff has the necessary tools to provide nutritious meals.

Staff Salaries: We are thrilled to share that, with your help, we were able to cover the salaries of our dedicated local team, consisting of five members and one new member, Sok Vat, a former student who has now become a teacher.

Support for Public School: In line with our commitment to community development, we extended our impact to the public school where we teach, providing additional support to improve its facilities and resources.

As we set our sights on 2024, we're thrilled to share our projects aimed at enhancing the learning environment for our students and ensuring the sustainability of our impactful initiatives. Key Projects for 2024:

- Why it's important: Our dedicated local team, including cooks, drivers, and support staff, is the backbone of our organization. Ensuring their financial stability guarantees a nurturing environment for our students.

- Why it's important: Our youngest learners deserve a secure and comfortable space. A new roof for the baby classroom will protect them from the elements, and provide more comfort. At the moment we teach them outdoors.

- Why it's important: Cambodia's rainy season can be challenging. Cementing our classrooms will protect our students and create a conducive learning space, free from weather-related disruptions and provide a more comfortable environment to learn.

- Why it's important: Basic supplies such as notebooks, pens, pencils, and colors are essential for a holistic learning experience. Additionally, bicycles provide a means of transportation for our volunteers, promoting access to explore the village and surroundings in their spare time and engaging more with the locals.

- Why it's important: Safety is our top priority. A new tuktuk will ensure the safe transportation of students to and from our school, giving parents peace of mind.

- Why it's important: With a growing number of volunteers, having only one bathroom is a bottleneck. A second bathroom is vital for the comfort and well-being of both students and volunteers.
