2 Ky Girls Amber & Dongayla Bahamas Cruise

You may or may not have seen the story but if you haven’t let me tell you about two of the strongest women I know. We all flew out for a long weekend vacation on 1/31/24, me, my wife, our oldest daughter and her BFF from school like one of my own. Me and my wife dropped them off for the cruise to the Bahamas the following morning. February 1st through the morning of the fourth were great. I kept seeing their vacation pics on facebook and video chatting when we could, they were having a blast. That morning they video chatted us from the beach they were having a drink and enjoying themselves, but they seemed off. I thought it was probably just the connection or me. Barely an hour later I received the most horrifying text of my life,”Call us now we’ve been drugged and raped.” After getting off the phone and reaching out to the family back home in Kentucky it was a waiting game they would text, call, or video chat when they could, but my children were hurt scared and alone and I could not get to them. It is every parent’s worst nightmare. It was a full 24 hours before we were finally able to meet them at the airport to fly home. It was a long wait in the airport trying to make sure they felt safe as well as the fact that they were both still loopy from the amount of drugs they were given. There were a lot of nice people along the way who helped us and made things a little bit easier. Now that we have them. Home safe they are so traumatized that they can’t go back to work, they cant even leave the house with out an escort due to fear. These girls were just trying to enjoy a well deserved girls week end which turn into a nightmare, leaving them with psychological trauma. To add to that is the finical strain of missing work and expensive meds and counseling. If you can help everything is appreciated, if you cant just please say a prayer for them and for change to region. They want to raise awareness and help stop this from happening to others. This is not an isolated incident and these girls are lucky to be alive and very strong for sharing their story. Any donation will go directly to the girls to pay household bills while they are off work. They are working with therapist and doctors to get back to some sense of normalcy.
