Dreghorn Public Access Defibrillator

THIS IS NOT A GO FUND ME PROJECT – IT IS A GO FUND US PROJECT (DREGHORN) TO ENABLE A PIECE OF EQUIPMENT THAT MAY SAVE SOMEONES LIFE IN OUR VILLAGE

Hi, My name is Bobby Keen, over the last month or so I have noticed in several villages and towns I have visited that the majority of them all have a Public Access Defibrillator available in a central area to their shopping hub which allows 24hrs access to all public if required. In Dreghorn we do have defibrillators availabe in the library, schools and the Bowling Club, these are not available 24hrs a day !!

A study showed that the longer it takes emergency personnel to arrive, the greater the benefit of a bystander using an AED to shock the victim. Victims who received a defibrillator shock from a bystander had far greater chances at survival and being discharged from the hospital than those who did not.

A victim's chance of survival falls by around 7 to 10 percent with every minute that defibrillation is delayed.

My intention is to raise £3,000.00 to purchase a defibrillator and protective cage box, have installed by professionals and register with a national recognised association, organise training classes although not required as when the defibrillator is required an audio instruction is sent out for step to step use!!

For all who stay in Dreghorn or use Dreghorn to socialise or shop this could be you who needs help or it could be one of your freinds or realtives, please help raise the required funding to enable Dreghorn to have an additional life saving piece of equipment available to everyone!

To assist with fundraising we have a singer/bands and DJ day organised in the Crown Inn 19th August 2023, start 2pm – 10pm (Watch Out for Advertising Posters) £5.00 per ticket.

In the spirit of openness I will be attaching all receipts for purchases and more details of where the Defibrillator will be installed as we progress through the fund raising stages, if we raise a lot more than required the intention would be to assist our neighbours in Springside with their own defibrillator, again all purchase receipts and money distribution will be highlighted in the GoFund Me page.
