Dressler Family Fund

As a teacher, tutor, coach, and natural leader, Kris Dressler influenced the lives of so many. Whether explaining the intricacies of fluid dynamics, mathematical equations, landing a tech dinghy on a windy day, or taking the most effective stroke in a rowing shell, he not only taught us the subject at hand but inspired us to embrace our passions and take life by the reins, just as he did.

In October 2021, Dress was diagnosed with glioblastoma, a highly aggressive and incurable form of brain cancer. He underwent two brain surgeries and multiple cycles of radiation and chemotherapy, but there is no “fight against” glioblastoma; there are only means to prolong life. On December 1st, 2022, his life tragically came to a premature end.

Many of us are deeply saddened and impacted by the loss of Dressler, none more than his amazing wife, Leslie, and his two kids, Wally (10) and Cece (8). In his last thirteen months of life, Dress’s utmost concern was the well-being of his family, particularly the health and happiness of his two young kids after such a devastating loss.

Leslie is profoundly grateful for the immense outpouring of love and support in the past year; the Dresslers' community of family and friends is unquestionably one of a kind. The road ahead is long though and she will need additional support. On top of the unimaginable heartbreak of losing Dress, his lost income will greatly impact Leslie and the kids’ livelihood as his salary made up the majority of the family’s finances.

With two kids to raise and her own grief to navigate, Leslie would benefit from any monetary help people can offer. It is not her nature to ask for this much help, so please know that your contribution will be sincerely appreciated and efficiently utilized. These funds will be put directly toward Dress’s end-of-life expenses and celebration-of-life, along with the continued stability for Wally and Cece that was so important to Dress.
