We are Nagarjun Learning center in Nepal (51103). We are running a learning center at Saldum Village in the Dhading region, Nepal, which aims to bring additional educational opportunities to impoverished and remote communities across Nepal. From 2021, we are serving more than 58 students and 600 villagers in the villages, ranging from after-school tutoring and extra-curricular activities for children, healthcare support with food and basic essentials distributions, to computing and empowerment programs for adults.
In the village, water supply is a big problem to villagers. While the water sources is limited and is seasonal, the water supply is insufficient in most of the time with the climate crisis. Without a proper piping system, women and children have to walk more than half hour to the water sources many times every day in order to bring water. The roads are dark and improper, which is very dangerous. Villagers also face difficulties as they are unable to grow food with bone-dried land, which worsens their financial condition. For the learning center, it brings difficulties to us in operating food distribution, and to provide daily health care to the villagers and provide basic water support for teachers and children.
In order to solve the problem and continue our empowerment work, we are seeking funds to build a proper water pipe system to improve the situation of the village. The estimated budget is as follows:
Plastic pipes and transportation fee: USD 100,000
Cements and stones for water reservoirs: USD 100,000
Labor cost for construction: USD 50,00
We would be very grateful to have your support on the water pipe system, as it would allow us to make a big change to the people in the village and the community with better health care and hygiene support. Most of all, it would bring great hope to villagers to continue living in a better homeland.
