"Drive" — 1980s Original Song & Short Film

WHAT ARE WE DOING?
Do you love '80s music? Are you into classic cars or racing? If you like any of these things, you'll love this project! "Drive" is an extended, story-driven music video that goes hand in hand with our original, 1980s song.

WHO'S ON BOARD?
On board for the song, we have Joel Hoekstra, the lead guitarist of Whitesnake. On drums, we have the legendary Jonathan Moffett — Michael Jackson's drummer of 30 years. And on lead vocals, we have Kayla Reeves, who is one of the lead singers of the Trans Siberian Orchestra. We truly have a team of world-class musicians bringing this song to life.

WHAT'S THIS ABOUT?
The lyrics tell the story of an underdog named Stella. Stella aspires to be the best drag racer out there to fulfill a dream her father had but could never achieve. All the people Stella races against are guys who don't believe she belongs on the track. They seemingly beat her in every race until finally, after enough persistence, she's able to prove to herself and everyone around her that she can be the best and live up to the dream she's set for herself.

HOW WILL WE DO IT?
We will be shooting the film in Michigan using old-school techniques with all of the shots being done practically — no green screen or CGI. With a seasoned stunt coordinator and rigging crew on board, we will be mounting cameras to various muscle cars and racing them at full speed on an actual drag strip, which will make for an authentic and visceral experience.

WHAT'S IT GONNA TAKE?
We are endeavoring to make this song and the film as top notch as possible, and even though many of the cast and crew on this project are volunteers, there are still lots of costs associated with making a film of this magnitude. Everything from studio time, equipment rentals, insurance, travel expenses, lodgings, talent costs, and the list goes on. But we believe all things are possible!
