Drive Nolan’s Dreams Forward: Wheelchair Van!
Donation protected
Every parent’s journey is unique, filled with highs and lows, triumphs and challenges. I’m Danielle and my journey as a mother took an unexpected turn when my son, Nolan, faced a life-changing event at just 9 months old. A sudden and severe medical condition known as transverse myelitis left him suddenly paralyzed at his C4 vertebrae, altering the course of his young life forever. Today, Nolan is a joyful, vibrant and curious 7-year-old. Despite his paralysis, he approaches each day with a smile that lights up any room and an indomitable spirit that inspires everyone he meets. A first grade student, Nolan progressively gains independence maneuvering his power wheelchair with confidence at school, yet, his family faces a crucial need—providing Nolan with the means to venture into the community, embracing life like any other spirited 7-year-old. Nolan requires a wheelchair accessible van to safely load his power wheelchair. While county support is available for the cost of mobility adaptations, the family seeks assistance specifically for the van component. Acquiring a wheelchair accessible van will significantly enhance Nolan’s autonomy, freeing him from reliance on bus transportation for his power chair. Nolan actively participates in extracurricular activities, including Cub Scouts, My Team Triumph, and summer baseball with a local Miracle League team. The absence of proper transportation to these events poses a considerable challenge for Nolan’s active engagement in these cherished activities. Your support can make a meaningful difference in facilitating Nolan’s participation and enriching his experiences beyond the confines of his immediate surroundings. Your generosity will not just help us purchase a vehicle; it will allow Nolan to have the ability to navigate the world on his terms. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for any support you can offer. Together, we can make a difference in Nolan’s life and help him chase his dreams with the freedom and independence he deserves.
